Slides are a must for us. Alot more room. Very helpful to have the additional space especially when you have inclement weather.
I think it helps with the resale.

I agree with RK911, once you had a slidout you will not be happy without it or them.

Why would you NOT want more wheelestate?? I have never understood this question... not to be rude... but.... do you want jacks for leveling? Same amount of upkeep for slides..... why not have as many ammenities as you can afford and want... JMO....

I would get an RV with slides. However, there are reasons people have for not wanting them. The main one I have heard is that "it's just one more thing to break". If you search around, people complain about them breaking.

That said, I think it is still worth it because after all the room inside and RV is very important.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

My 2009 Class A does not have slides and that is what I wanted. I've had slides, appreciated and used the extra room, but just decided that I could learn to live with the space we have. It has worked so far, been 2 years.
Resale value? Know it will be lower, but since trade-ins don't bring what we think they are worth, not a problem for me. Ours is 31' and has a nice floorplan. Works for us.

Our 1999 with one slide has not had a problem yet. Oh! Oh! Knock on wood.
