I bought a webber gas grill last summer. This summer it has very little heat output. Just how do you go about cleaning the gas burner? I see a blue flame in 1/3 of the burner.

The 200 has small holes in the burner tube and they crud up pretty fast.

About one a year I take a welding tip cleaner the size of all those little holes in the burner and clean each and every one.
After cleaning the grill works like new. Takes about 15-20 minutes. A small wire bit (drill bit) used by hand would work in a pinch.

You might be trying to light it too soon after turning on the tank valve and/or turned the gas on too fast. There's some kind of safety device built into the grill that limits the flow of gas if you try lighting the grill too fast after turning on the gas. Try turning off the tank valve, then turn on the tank valve (slowly) and let it sit for a while (I think the manual says 15 min.) THEN turn it on and light. Good luck.

I had one that did the same thing.. the way I got it to work was to peel back the label on the tank valve, under it you will see a small phillips screw, tighten it about 1/4 turn and relight it. If it's better and you still want more heat you can give it another 1/4 turn.... Do mess with the valve screw while the grille is lit!!
This also works good when you are at higher elevations...

I'm gonna say its the open hose flow device in the tank. If you open the tank valve too quickly, it reduces the flow to next to nothing. As someone mentioned, have the grill valve off, then verrrrryyyy sloooowwly open the tank valve, then slowly open the grill valve.

Or you might have a bad regulater.

The flame is only a half inch tall at best.

Are you using the compact propane bottles that screw on or using a hose hooked up to another propane source? If using an external source, make sure you are not drawing propane through two (2) regulators. If by chance you are hooked up to you coach's onboard tank, you may also be running through two regulators. If just using the compact propane bottles, then follow the advice about cleaning in the above posts.

Sounds like the old 2 regulator problem I had until Weber help line straightened me out. I even had fitting installed by the dealer that was useless I now use a 11 lb tank that stores nicely
