We are finishing out 10th winter here in Mexico and will begin out drive north tomorrow.
This year, a familiar route - and staying at RV parks all the way.
Wed.- Chetumal; Thursday- Villahermosa; Friday- Cholula; Saturday- Matahuela; Sunday- Texas.
Easy roads all the way, comfortable days.
Anyone want to join up along the way, pm us back.
Cheers, Glen

Day Three - Villahermosa to Cholula
Good news, The roads are in the best condition I have seen them in the last four years. Large stretches of the Cuota through eastern Vera Cruz State are shiny new.
Also, there is more military and local and Federal police presence than ever. I was told that it is this way through Semana Santa.
We are on schedule to be in Matahuela tomorrow.
Then if anyone want to join up from there, or Saltillo we will be going up Hwy 57 to Piedras Negras/ Eagle Pass on Sunday.

Road report --
Day two we are at the balneario at Villahermosa.
Got here early 4 pm and it was HOT - 38C/ close to 100F.
We have the fans going full blast and hoping for a cool night.
Tomorrow will be slower going over the bad roads in south Vera Cruz.
But it will bring up to the climb to the highlands and cooler temps.

Hope you can enjoy cool beer on the high land.
I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

Day five Matahuela to Tx.
We went straight up Hwy 57 to Eagle Pass.
BEST SIGN EVER:
Coming into Monclova from the south, there were 5 fairly large signs stating
Di NO al la MORDITA, with a image of an apple with a circle and red line through it, and a phone number and an email address.
I'll post a photo of the sign when I can load it.

The pool (Villahermosa) was packed. We had to wait til it closed and the parking lot emptied (7pm) to move up near the building where the electric worked.
I talked to a guy on a motorcycle from Alberta last night in Cholula. He retreated from the Gulf coast and the crowds there.
Day 4 -- settled into one of the cleanest parks in Mexico, Las Palmas in Matahuela.
Coming up Hwy 57, lots and lots of police and military check points. All cordial and friendly.
Early tomorrow we make the 9 hour drive to the border.
