Just left Ft Worth last week.
The photos of semis way up in the tornado seem almost impossible.
That's a lot of energy to fling perhaps 80,000 lbs around like a feather.
Anyone in the area?
What about the RV parks?

Couldn't believe those semi-trailers being tossed like matchbox toys. I hope everybody involved is OK.

Local news says at least 12 tornados in the immediate D/FW area. Lots of damaged and destroyed homes and businesses. Amazingly, no deaths and apparently no serious injuries reported so far.
One passed thru a large parking area for semi-tractor trailer rigs. The trailers were empty But still, the video of them being picked up and swirled around the vortex of the tornado a hundred feet or so off the ground and tossed away is pretty awesome to watch.
Fortunately the storms diminished before reaching our town only about 30 miles away.

This one is going to be ugly with a lot of casualties, my heart goes out to the victims. I had a front row seat for the one that went through the Edmonton Alberta area in 1987. The power is actually hard to comprehend, I saw railway locomotives that were flung around like toys and large petroleum storage tanks flipped over and crushed like soda cans.

The news reported that the semi box weighs about 14,000 lbs.
It was unreal. we are located between the 2 touchdowns along I20.
Overall, it appears it is not going to be near as bad as others in recent history.

My fifth wheel weighs 14,000 lbs, with everything I own in it. When I saw those trailers flying through the air, I promised myself to avoid tornado country. Hope everyone is OK.

We're in Thackerville OK and the storms were south of us. The sky was very dark. We got a bit of wind in the morning and some rain but no strong storms. We have relatives and friends in Dallas and Ft Worth and they are all OK. We have a weather radio (NOAA) and we leave it on "all" counties so we know if a storm is approaching. After seeing those videos, I know one thing when the tornado warning sounds, I'm outta here!!

We were lucky, it just made trucks fly and took off the roofs. When they come thru and all that's left is slabs then that's bad.

We have family in the north Dallas area and the two bad storms sort of split the area of US75 going up NE thru Plano and McKinney where our family lives. Family said they went to the center bathroom four or five times when the sirens would go off... Not much damage there.
Flying tractor trailer beds were indeed something to see. They were saying it just couldnt pick up the truck part but the empty trailers sure went flying in the air. I think I counted six in one of those videos going around in circles.. Glad someone posted the weight of the empty trailer. They are capable of hauling the 80K and up lbs but were empty when the storm hit it seems.
RV trailers sure did go through my mind as well...

Pretty scary stuff. That's our normal route back north this time of year.
Really happy now that we're taking the Texas Gulf Coast up instead. When I watched the news, all I could see was our Class A up in the air with the others.
