If you are unable to put your steer, drive, and trailer wheels on separate pads at a CAT scale what would be the best way to weigh to get weights on each axle of TV with trailer hooked up? Also get the tongue weight?
We live close to a CAT scale and I once went with a PUP and just weighed the TV all wheels on a pad and the tongue of PUP on one pad and PUP wheels on one pad. This at least gave me the tongue weight, gross weight of PUP, and gross weight of TV. It did not give me the TV axle weights with PUP hooked up. The PUP was 1700# and the TV has a GVWR of 5500#, I was not worried to much about over loading the TV but wanted to know the weights so I was only able to get only the GW of TV, GW of PUP, and tongue weight od PUP.
We now have a hybrid which of course is longer and would like to get the weights on the steer, drive, TT axle, and tongue weight.
When at the CAT scales it seemed even with the longer new TT I will not be able to put the wheels on a pad separately to get all the weights needed.
What would be the steps to get the best weights I possibly could get?
I've done so much with so little for so long, I'm now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Thats interesting.
My local CAT scale has separate pads, I did a one pull weigh.
My steer axle was on one pad
Drive axle on another
TT axles on another.
Are you sure you won't fit on three separate pads? (granted my TT is 32 ft long and the TT axles are pretty far behind my drive axle.)
Thanks!

I think the middle platform on a CAT scale is about 16' long.
That means if the distance from your TV's steer axle to the TT's front axle is more than about 20',
you should be able to have the steer axle on the first platform,
the drive axle on the second platform,
and the TT's axles on the third platform.
Then with the TV and TT loaded approximately as for a camping trip,
you can make three sets of axle load measurements:
1) steer axle and drive axle for TV only
2) steer axle, drive axle, and TT axle pair for TT attached with no WD applied
3) steer axle, drive axle, and TT axle pair for TT attached with WD applied.
If you post the three sets of axle loads, we can help you interpret the data.

Thanks, I will try to get it to the scales this weekend or the next week or so. Maybe it just appeared that it all would not fit on all 3 pads. I know the the box of the TT is 23' and it is a Dodge duel cab, so it very well may be long enough.

While still a guess I can't envision you having a problem on getting the 3 wts on one pass and you can re-weigh for a $1 or $2 more.

I have been wanting to do this with my setup for a while. How much do they charge for this?

I just weighed three days ago at a Cat Scale at a Pilot station. It was $9.50 for the first weigh and any re-weighs the same day were $1.
Not all stations are the same price but that is a ballpark figure.

Curious I could do all this in 2 weighs? How would I do the second weigh? Truck on one pad and the tongue on one pad and the TT wheel on third pad?
Not sure how to weigh with TT unhooked.
