I just finished repacking the wheel bearings. I found that locally the NAPA parts house has a section of trailer parts. I think it said etrailer on the sign but I was more interested in getting new seals than reading signs.

At any rate I stopped at 4 auto parts houses and they could order me 4 seals at about $6 apiece. The NAPA trailer bin had several plastic wrapped tubes of 10 pieces. Price $2.33 each. They used Redline part numbers, something like part number 10-19.

It looked like they had most parts for axle repairs, but then again I had tunnel vision. My shopping is get in, get what I want and get out.

I think I read somewhere you should replace the seals after 1 year and you pull the drum. I replace them about every 3 years when I check my brakes.

Be careful . . . If you have the Dexter EZ-Lube system and use it -- there is a seal specifically for use with that system. Most parts places, including trailer places, do not carry that seal.
