Received my new quote for progressive on the motorhome. It went up by $209 ! I quickly called progressive and asked for them to re-quote the policy. After about an hour I got the new quote via email and to my surprise it went DOWN over $557 from last year.

2011 policy $1,688
2012 policy $1,897

Re-Quote Policy $1,340 with full pay discount and EXACT same coverage. I guess the phone call was worth it.

They re-ran a credit check and made sure all the discounts where accurate. Don't know if others may want to take a look when renewal time comes around.

Yea.......

Mine creeps up around $150 a year, and I just paid it a couple of weeks ago. Next year they will get the call for sure as I know the "creep" won't stop.

Thanks for the heads up, ....

Take a look at GoodSam GMAC. They beat Progressive by a substantial amount for the same coverage. In the time I was with Progressive, the premium increased every year with zero claims.

I had the same experience with Allstate. Good Sam GMAC not only beat their semi annual price by almost $500, I also get a reduced price during the winter when the MH is in winter storage.

Check with GS GMAC...maybe it'll work for you too.

..Over $1300 a year to insure ONE vehicle/RV?! Wow!

I understand why, given what your rig is and its value. However, I'll just say that insurance premiums like that confirm to me yet one more reason (of many) why I want absolutely nothing to do with $100k+ diesel Motorhomes.

Our brand new MH (see signature) is insured with Progressive as well, and costs less than HALF that to insure. And, thats with full replacement cost option, as well as 0 deductible windshield coverage.

Still, thanks for the heads up. Will definitely have to see next year when its renewal time, if Progressive tries the same thing with us.

You can't compare policies from different states. Here in Michigan we are no-fault and have unlimited medical for anything from an auto accident. The rates are horrible here. Every state has different rules and rates.

Big difference between weekend usage and full time living plus look at
what liability coverage you have? 100K Iam willing to bet. Most prudent
Rvers will carry 500K and that adds a lot to the bill
your motorhome to replace must be close to 100K plus add the proper
liability and take 500 deductable collission etc and u will be at the 1000K plus mark.one thing to brag about cheap insurance but when it comes to claims you may be very sorry especially if you badley injure someone
