We did the strong bleach bit on a previous TT. Let it sit two days. Drained and refilled and drained again. Problem was gone.

As someone said, you may need to also clean faucet aerators. We had to also clean screen filter in water pump.

I would consider filling it with several bags of ice cubes as well as the bleach solution and drive it around on bumpy roads to help dislodge and rinse, rinse rinse...then do it again.

How do you put several bags of ice in the fresh water tank?

Very slowly

I take it 1 cube at a time, place the cube in the opening of the water hose, let it melt, and it runs right in

Shouldn't be difficult to kill an single alga, provided you can find the little past. Billions of algae is a bigger job. I'm not sure why the male algus isn't more trouble.
