I don't carry a SINGLE cable but two 50 foot cables, each just coiled and tied. don't see a problem and have never needed more than 100 feet.

There is one special consideration with coax..
Personally, I hand coil it, no bucket, no drum just some velcro to hold it in the coil shape.. At least most of 'em. I use cord reels for the rest.
However you should, with TV coax (including sat coax) maintain a coil with an inside diamater of at least SIX INCHES. That is the only special consideration.

Mine remains connected at all times. I roll it loosely and drop it behind the power cord between the transfer switch and clamp that holds the PC to the compartment wall.

I have a cord-pro or 3 too, They are VERY VERY bad for solid center conductor coax. .And not all that good for stranded center conductor coax.

WHY
You fold the cable back upon itself in the middle, Now if you go to the trouble of using hard conenctors (two right angle, and a barrel connector) and dividing your run of coax in two, then they are ok
But if you just double the cable back on itself it will damage the cable snd it may short out your receiver as well. NOT GOOD.

I have found that a 100 ft cord is way too much cord.
I use 3 lengths one the length of the fiver, one 1/2, and one 8-9 ft length. pick and choose on setup or combine all lengths together.
No one way is the best for coiling. I just coil up and use a small elastic cord to keep from unraveling.

I carry two 25' and one 50' and I sewed a velco strap near one end and then another that will slide along the cable directly across from the other one when coiled up. That way I only unwind what is needed. I have done the same for my water hoses and electrical cords.

John, you are right IF you wind them that way so they will pull from both ends at the same time. I don't double mine back but wind the entire reel in the same direction. That way there are no sharp bends where it crosses sides, just a continuation in the same direction.
