Mine remains connected at all times. I roll it loosely and drop it behind the power cord between the transfer switch and clamp that holds the PC to the compartment wall.

And what exactly does this have to do with the coax cable for a portable satellite dish and RV?

John, you are right IF you wind them that way so they will pull from both ends at the same time. I don't double mine back but wind the entire reel in the same direction. That way there are no sharp bends where it crosses sides, just a continuation in the same direction.

Kind of defeats the concept of the cord keeper pro though don't you think..; If you are going to do that then a generic real from Home Depot would be.. Well.. Better (and in fact that is what I use) .

It definitely defeats the ability to hook one end up and then pull the other end as far as needed but I wouldn't use it that way anyhow because of the stress on the connector/connection that is already hooked up. I just unwind as much as I need from either or both ends then hook them both up. I just like the neat package of the wound cable and the protection the enclosed case gives the cable. I'll have to take a look at what Home Depot, etc. offers but I am very happy with the CordPro, even the way I use it.

On the cords I use the cord pro with (Extension cords) I hold both ends, And kind of slingshot (David kind) the reel out, FULL length, since you have uncoil extension cords before using in most cases. (not needed on the cord that powers my Wi-Fi Modem. but hey, for all purposes and intents that one is carrying zero amps (considerably less than 1)

martipr,
He is asking how people store the coax for their sat dish. This is how I store mine since my coax connector is the the same compartment as the rest of the external electrical cords.
