I've gotten down duvets, sheets and pillows for our beds. Glad to see the tip about having one person stay outside to help make up the beds! Picking our HTT on the 19th, so making notes.

Since we give all the servants the weekend off when we camp we use the same king size sleeping bags we got with our Coleman popup several years.

I ain't making a bed and I know SHE ain't either!

Oh my gosh that makes me want to squirm with claustrophobia! Of course, DH was a backpacker, so we have those mummy bags which every time we go camping in, I can barely breathe for the first couple of hours I'm in the bag. Then I eventually get used to it. But I think we'll stick with sheets.

Gotta be mattress pad, sheets (the cheapie ones from Walmart), blanket, quilt when chilly. Definitely make the beds from inside and outside - the inside only way is a real back breaker. We strip the sheets after every weekend - like to start the next trip with fresh sheets - leave mattress pad on, blanket and/or quilt gets folded and stored in it's place. When we unloaded the tent with DS#2, the sleeping bags and anything tent-related went too. Camping with our ROO is still camping, but we do enjoy some of the luxuries like sheets, etc.

We do sheets, then a sleeping bag open on top instead of a blanket (only because we have the sleeping bags from tent camping and don't have a slew of extra blankets). I have mattress covers on the beds (waterproof ones for any accidents the kids have) then normal queen fitted sheet and top sheet. All that stays on the bed when it is folded up, I take the sleeping bags off to close up as I find it hard to close the ends with the extra bulk.

Where around Ottawa do you plan on camping?

flannel sheets all season long. warm in the spring, comfy in the summer, great in the fall. Up front we have a heated mattress pad ($20 clearance find, dual zone for each of us). the kids have the same minus the headed pad. We each have our own no-sew fleece blanket for added warmth/comfort. Takes under 10 minutes to make all three beds.

If it were up to me it'd be a fart sack, but it's not. Flannel sheets and a blanket or down comforter are the required bedding.

Just changed over to an Adam & Eve sleeping bag from Cabelas (Craigslist find). Kids had always used sleeping bags, and I got tired of making up the bed and keeping it looking nice.
