Yes, I'll bet the by-pass is opened and you need to close it. It was quite easy in my old FW, right next to the water heater which we accessed right below the pantry next to the fridge. However, with our new one, had to look all over for it and finally found it through a little door just inside the passthrough storage. Had to take four screws out to get to it, what a pain. I may try something else to hold it in the future, although we will only be in there twice a year, probably. Good luck finding your by-pass, and remember, you will probably have to move three valves.

I've forgot to open the bypass a few times. Got to the campground with no hot water. Easy fix open the valve to the water heater. Dose'nt necessarly mean you will have hot water then. Mine has a high temp. limit on the heater whic will trip if the heater gets too hot. Still an easy fix, go outside take off water heater door push two black reset buttons and all is well.

if you put the bypass valve on normal and the tank fills and you still don't get water out of the fsaucets it is the check valve, a $7.00 plastic part that fails at an alarmingly high rate.

Where are the valves.. Though in theory they can be in other places the FIRST place to look is described as follows.

Go outside and find the water heater access panel. Leave it alone.

Think about what is INSIDE at that exact same spot.

Odds are very good there will be some kind of panel, (Mine is a wall with a panel that can be easily removed, Originally it did not look all that easy to remove, but it is)

Valves are behind the panel.

What did it take to remove it? Well screwdrivers are a posibility but on my coach.. Fingers did the job, Just pull gently.

They may also be in the "Wet Compartment" (Where city wate rhook up and other valves are) but the closer to the back side of the water heater... The better.

As expected after last night's posts, it was under the bunk beds. We flipped the valves and heard water flowing in. What turned out to be the anode (sp?) flew about 15 feet with a gusher of water behind it. Amazing what had to be only a gallon or two of water can do. I'm just glad no one was out there straight in front of it to get hurt. So we got it all put back together (correctly per some other sources) and now we have hot water. Only to discover that the furnace that was kicked on at the dealer and we used for maybe 20 minutes this morning won't come on tonight - it's 31 here. We weren't planning on running it all night since it's new, but just wanted to warm it up in here for showers. No such luck. We are learning and enjoying the adventure. And glad we brought sleeping bags along Thanks everyone.

I had a list of about 5 things that weren't working right after our first trip out. After we returned home I got out the manuals and re-read everything. Every item I had listed turned out to be operator error. These things can make smart people feel real stupid without even trying.

Things always work when you don't need them and vice versa.

That's Murphy's Law #1 when it comes to camping/rving.

You've got that right! We're getting through most of it ok between the manuals (which for the most part are very vague in my opinion) and the internet; just takes time which is what this weekend trip was all about. We're doing another long weekend -again near lots of stores - before we do a week long trip.

Everyplace is out of the ceramic cube heaters this time of year. I asked at the camp office on the off hand chance they knew where to get one and they loaned us one for tonight! Camp host also took a look at our system and what we did and said it looks like something not connecting somewhere because the blower won't even come on though you can hear it click. Everything else has been us for sure, but maybe not the furnace

Had same experience with new rig...it turned out one of the out side faucets was on so water was recirculating.
