We are currently staying at a park that is hosting a gathering for a group of RV coach buses. I have heard of these things and seen pics online but never in person. The question I keep coming back to is... how do they get to be soooo expensive? Is it just a matter of installing the most expensive components using the most expensive labor?
More power to the owners and at least they actually use the rigs but it still baffles my mind on the price. Guess it is one of those things where if you have boatloads of cash then why not buy the best of the best; I just question if these huge buses really are the best.
Please keep the conversation civil.

I also see them come into the park. I just never see them what do they do in there all day? I wake up in the morning and see during the night they did hook up to sewer and water and elec. but just never see them? Then in a couple days the Bus is gone. I just wonder who they were oh well I lkie to meet my neighbors and chat about where they have been and where they are going sometimes we also go there but I still do wonder who those folks were?? rvtommy

I have been in several of these mega rigs and granted they are pretty, but there is no room in them. They stuff everything and anything in them but there is no room left for people.

This is how they "get to be sooo expensive."
I think they are cool. Would I want one? Probably not. I'm more than happy with what we have now.
I often walk around campgrounds and initiate conversation with all kinds of folks from tenters to luxury MH owners. They all seem to be having a good time.

DW and I were in a really nice RV Resort right on Frenchman's Bay (just on the mainland side of Bar Harbor, ME when a couple dozen of those $1M+ rigs came in for a few days.
For me... it was easy to see where the $$$$ came from. I mean just the frame, power plants and drive train have got to be near 1/2 the $$$$! Yes they are pretty and yes all the appointments were 1st class items / materials. And YES, if you "look" beyond the glitz and glitter you WILL SEE the thousands of manhour's labor that went into them.
So... are they worth the $1M+? You bet they are... "whatever the market will bear" - there are folks out there with the $$$$$ that are buying them left and right.
Would I buy one if I had the $$$$$ - why the heck not!

The new Newels & Prevost are 2 million plus. They are built for show and glitter but not practical. On the other hand, Foretravel is a million plus unit built one at a time to your specs. Liveability, storage, pantries all useful. You get what you pay for, hand crafted cabinets, desks, storage...I would pay the extra for quality instead of quanity.

Must be because I don't have that kind of money that makes me biased.
I've looked several of those rigs over and to me it's a lot of glitz and quite frankly.........gaudy.
Just can't wrap my head around that the high cost really gets you more value.

I was in a Prevost several years ago.
It had lighting "themes" that were controlled by a master controller (looked like a Ipad, before Ipads were even invented)
The drawers, cabinetry, etc was of very high quality.
High end appliances, bedding
At Prevost they design to your exact specs - I am sure that has alot to do with the price.

I thought I read on this forum that just the Prevost w/o the custom work was $700K. I'm not sure that I would spend that much, however should I ever have the $$$$ it might be nice.
