The 120v water heater switch, lighted, on our control panel sometimes does not light, after a couple of times flipping the switch, the light comes on has anyone replaced this switch? Our m/h is a 2007 Holiday Rambler the control panel has all the switches, thermo. control etc. any help would be nice.
Thanks
Bill
The light on the switch may be about to burn out but that does not hinder the on and off function of the hot water heater. In summary the water heater will turn on and off even if the switch does not light up.
On mine that red light is not an indicator that the heater is on electric, it is a "Fail to light" indicator, which lights up if you turn the heater on to propane and it fails to light after 3 or 4 tries. then the red light comes on and you have to turn the propane switch off for a while and then try again. Anyone else works like this?

Bill,
Ours was out too on the "One Place" panel in the middle of the coach. The problem is two fold. One, you can't tell if the water heater's on or not, if the switch is out unless you wait for the water to get hot. Second, I can tell from a distance if I've left the switch on or not now that I've replaced the switch.
I simply wend down to a local RV repair/parts business and picked up an exact replacement. Ours is a red rocker switch that has an LED inside the switch. The LED is not replaceable unless you're a micro surgeon. If you manage to pry the back of that switch apart, there's a couple of tiny springs that usually go into orbit and, some other tiny parts too that will seem to disappear.
So, for about $8.00, plus or minus, I've got a brand new, exact replacement one that works flawless. Many of those switches are common among different RV manufacturers.

othertonka,
What you most likely have is in the lower part of the picture I'm showing here. In it you'll see the 110V semi-transparent water heater switch, at the top left. You'll also see the electric switch that turns on the propane side of the water heater. And below that, you'll see the indicator for "Pilot out" which, I believe is what you're describing, correct? So, it might be the same on Bills as it is on ours. That is a 110V lighted W/H switch and, an indicator for "Pilot out" that is also red when lit. But, obviously the pilot out and water heater working normal light(s) are only in operation when using the propane side of heating the water heater.
Bill,
Hope this helps some. In ours, the switch was very easy to replace. I removed the two screws that held in that entire panel and simply removed the wires off that 110V water heater switch, transferred them to the new switch and pushed in the new one.

Is the switch itself lighted. The product you linked to did not have lighted switches. it had two unlighted switches and a light between them that meant "Problem" if it lights up.
However if you have lighted switches they are 12 volt DC.
now, what I did when my Electric Switch went out.
I got a indicator lamp assembly This is a plastic tube, 1/4" (About) in diamater with a LED in one end and a lens assembly, wires come out the other end, it says 12 volt upon it (this is important) I wired it between 12 volt switched. (The wire on the electric switch that goes to the water heater) and ground (the lower wire on the lock out lamp in the image) it works great.

Thanks for the reply, the switch only is lit when you turn on the electric, to turn the water heater on, this is not the switch for the lp gas and indicator. So if the electric, lighted switch, is not working I will take off the face of the panel and see if it is a fairly easy replacement and get a new lighted switch. Thanks for the help

As I posted this is most likely a 12V switch. This is a very common Monaco setup that is used to control a 120V HW. Check it out with a voltmeter.
