Hi Everyone,
I received this email from a friend who and asked the following questions since I know a little about RVing. He asks:

"I have a friend who is trying to sell his late Father’s RV/Motorhome. I don’t know that much about Motorhomes, but one suggestion is that I would be willing to get involved with a multiple partnership to make this affordable for all. Just food for thought. Here is the info:

2002 Fleetwood Revolution / 44’ long / Cummings Engine / 53K miles /$ 75000.00 "

I know nothing about this model. I have only had a class c and a travel trailer.

First of all, does anyone have experience with this model? Is the price too high? Anything else he should look for?
Secondly, if this was a great deal, what are the pros and cons about more than one person owning it? I personally see only cons, but since I have never co-owned a MH, I could be wrong.
Thanks in advance.

A 10 year old MH, IMHO 50K would be a far closer realistic price.

are u sure its 44' and not 40'? what is the engine and what is the HP rating. I personally would not co-own unless you know the partner extremely well and agree upoun usuages and the lot before hand
If there are any women involved then I say forget about it(co-owning)
It is more than likely a 40 foot 2 slide 330HP unit and 75K ask is not bad price but far from a steal.330HP are not great for power once u load all the kids and dogs and food and then add a towed vehicle

Revolution is a fairly high end coach. It's was sold by Fleetwood but reportedly built at their American Coach assembly plant (it's now sold under the American Coach name) (i.e. it was basically the 'highest end' Fleetwood DP available - it's now the 'low end' model on American Coach line (think Toyota vs Lexus)).

First, if you're interested, you can get brochures here http://www.americancoach.com/brochure/default.aspx?code=.

Second, the info provided doesn't add up - until 2005, I believe Fleetwood only offered 38 and 40 feet mhs and only started offering a 42 (measuring 43) in 2007 (to this day they still only offer up to 43' (although their 43' are actually 44+).

At $75k the price is too high. Market value is probably around $60k (although that also depends on the condition).

Personnaly, although it does make sense in theory to co-own a motor home because they tend to go unused much of the time, in practice they also do break fairly frequently and I think sharing would put a lot of strain on a friendship and I wouldn't want to do it.

A 2002 Revolution is Fleetwood. They did not come under AC until 2010 or 2012.

He said the Rev. was built on the same assembly line as the AC. That has been said on this forum for years. The same build quality only the Rev. is on a Freightliner chassis and the AC was on a Spartan.

I believe the Revolution was rear radiator/Freightliner and the Revolution Le was side radiator/Spartan same as AC.

* It will either be a 38 or a 40C. Both were built in 2002, it was the first year.
* The 2002 was built with a rear radiator and a 330 HP Cummins ISC
* The 2002 Revolution was the only Revolution ever built with the water heater below the belt line in the passngers side rear most cabinet.
* The 2003 was a side radiator on a freightliner chassis.
* The 2003 revolution had room for an additional 4 batteries in the compartment where the water heater was on the 2002. The waater heater was moved above the belt line.
* 2004 Revolutions had a half detachable ladder on the back. (the 2003 was completely removable.
* 2004 Revolutions had no stripes on the ends of the slides.
* 2004 revolution was the first year with a Nav system available.
* All revolution had the same components as the tradition but not the eagle which had some higher end options available, Aqua Hot etc.
* All revolutions were only built on one line in the American coach factory. They were going to be "American Revolutions" but marketing gurus had them take the name "American" off at the last minute. This apparently saved them 26000 per unit as the "American Coach Support" was not included when sold under the fleetwood line.
* 2005.5 and later coaches were built on a "Spartan liberty Chassis". They were designated with the name "LE" to distinguish from those 2005 models that were on the Freighliner chassis.
* 2005.5 and later had 400 ISL Cummins motors.
* 2005.5 and later had 120 gallon fuel tanks instead of 154 gallon fuel tanks.
* In 2010 Revolution was officially brought into the "American Coach family" Owners of earlier models were welcomed to join the American Coach owners clubs and the American coach factory support was made available to all owners of earlier models.
