Just bought a new 2012 Roadtrek 190 Simplicity. Would like to get some input as to what spare parts I should get to have in the van. I already have an assortment of spare fuses, extra oil for the generator, a spare anode rod for the water heater, toilet chemicals, disinfecting cleaner, small funnels to add fluids, and duct tape. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Basic cooking gear & spices. First aid gear (larger bandages can be improvised from paper/cloth towels & duct/electrical tape); misc. OTC drugs for the runs, sinuses, etc. Basic hand tools (straight, phillips, & square screwdrivers in several sizes; at least a crescent wrench & pliers). Check to be sure the spare tire can be unbolted with what tire stuff you have; sometimes the nut that holds it in the carrier is a different size than the lugs. Mechanic's disposable gloves. Small folding shovel. Extra paper towels & toilet paper. Windshield scraper. Long-handled squeegee for windshield cleaning.

A large pack of enjoyment!

wiper blades for sure... my gosh, what a nuisance when one packs it in on the highway...

I carry spare bulbs, screw drivers etc... I also carry spare belts for the truck (they arent brand new, they are the used belts I replaced) I also carry the tools to change wheel bearings on the trailer and an alternator and battery in the truck, also the tools to remove the drive shaft if I need a new U joint... and then some basic hand tools

For me, each time I either fix something, or modify it, replacement parts get stored away in the rig. As time goes on, you will have more and more "stuff"', that you may never need. It kinda depends where you camp, how good you are at fixing things, and how much you want to carry.

Windshield washer fluid.
Wiper blades.
Basic socket wrench set.
Basic screwdriver set.
Fuses, both for the engine and for the coach.
Wire crimps and crimper.
Wheel blocks and chocks for leveling.
Extra key. I use a hardened container combined with a hidden location.
Your Good Sam card as well as a credit card.
Twine.
A good knife, mainly for utility.
A Leatherman kit with pliers.

A couple things you might consider depending on where you are going, but it might not be worth the space taken:

A 2000 watt inverter generator.
A small battery charger.
A rechargeable cordless drill with a bit assortment.
A first aid kit with tooth repair powder and such.
A few gallons of water.
Blankets.

With a brand new vehicle you shouldn't be needing ANY spare parts but if you want to begin GUESSING at what will break, I wish you good luck. Not very likely you'll hit the bulls eye
