No worries, I won't post every day.
Our stick home went on the market in mid-November.....sold.....and today, was Day 1 of up to 365, or whenever the finite funds expire, whatever comes first. Austin, TX to Lake Texoma, where we will hunker down and go catch a couple of sunsets.
Just wanted to give everyone over here a shout out to thank you for the eternal amount of advice that is offered up at this site. Like earning your college degree, we got to put theory into practice.
Cheers and thanks again for your phenomenal advice. And as a gray-haired rookie, I will be back seeking assistance again.....

Congratulations! Enjoy your journey! You're in our neck of the woods and we're leaving tomorrow to go to your "old" stomping grounds...Lake Bastrop. Ours is just for the weekend though...wish we were on your route!

Why not post every day? When the "addiction" hits, it's hard to ignore!

I would love to be in your shoes and full time it. The only thing holding us back is my %&(*$(&^) health insurance I have to work. I just turned 61 on Monday so I am not close to MC, My husband is not in the best of h ealth andthatis another reason I want to full time now so he can enjoy traveling like healways has done.
Any suggestions about no insurance or something cheap out there?
Thanks

I hear you. It is a racket.
With COBRA, you can opt in to your employer's health insurance for 18 mos, yes, expensive, as you pay all of the premiums yourself. BUT, weigh it out in terms of finances and value--would you regret not doing it if something was to happen to your hubbs.
We are both around 50 yrs of age, so we are just taking off a year so we do not have the regrets of never doing it, before age creeps in and dollars dwindle.
What we are doing--wife has personal policy, typical catastrophic, high deductible. I went completely different--I am member of Samaritan Ministries. They are one of 3 Christian based orgs where members pool their money to pay for each others' conditions. They won't help with pre-existing issues, but new issues is where they work well, with a cost of only $135 per mo., with essentially a $300 deductible. They are not "insurance" per se, so not controlled by Obamacare rules.
And if you are anyone else uses them, we get a referral credit, so give them my name, please
Let me know if I can answer anything else. You can search Health Insurance on the forum, as well.
