How easy or difficult is it to do so?
Just curious.
I won't be doing it, but I have friends that are extremely mechanical for a living....
Thanks!
Ps hijacker vs pull rite thoughts on the differences?
Thanks!

A friend and myself installed my 16k husky fifth wheel hitch, took us about 1 hr to layout/drill rails. and install custom brackets. But about 2 hours to tighten all the bolts. I have a 2012 duramax and their is seriously less than 1" of room between the frame rail and box and ALOT of things in your way. Instructions recommend them to be torqued to 75ft/lbs. Best we could do is get a box end wrench on them and tighten them the best we could. Its a super simple job really if you can use a measuring tape/center punch/drill and torque wrench. Just be prepared for some bloody knuckles!

I used the custom brackets from Reese.
Was a straight-forward job. Took a good part of the day, but I did it alone and installed a connector in the bed, as well as cut the bed mat to fit.

My reasoning for going with an installer is that I'm expecting it to be a cleaner/prettier look than what my friends might do.

Thank you for the replies! It doesn't seem too difficult if you have all the right tools (and you are handy). Luckily I have friends who are willing and probably able

I looked at both hijacker and pullrite. Both seemed to have good reviews. I settled on the made in USA pullrite and have no regrets at all. Had a capture plate issue which was promptly taken care of by their customer support which was excellent. Took me about 4 hours to put mine in by myself with the underbed super rail kit. Read through the instructions first and a mechanically minded individual won't have any issues.

On my Reese 16K install the hardest part was finding the right bit to drill the holes (it's an oddball size and ended up being pricey). I had good luck fishing the bolts through the frame on all but one (which got stuck and took a lot of jiggling to get it free'd up to try again). Oh yeah... a few of the bolts are torqued to feel and not with a torque wrench - I could not fit it into all spots.
Must be OK thought because it's towed some heavy stuff for a lot of miles and a lot of years now.

Love my PullRite!!! The super rails for my Dodge used existing holes in the frame.
When you pull the hitch out nothing but 4 holes left in the bed. Hook up and no worries. Just pull baby pull!!!
Check em out.

It took 2 guys about 4 hours to install my Lil Rocker. This was at the rv dealer where I bought my fifth wheel. After I watched them strugle with tighting the bolts I was glad I didn't tackle it my self on my long bed crew cab Duramax.
