The nice thing about LED lights is they have very little ambient light..meaning they can light up an area without shining in your neighbor's coach. Out in the boonies it wouldn't matter but IMHO, the unshielded scare lights should be banned inside established campgrounds. Light up your own area like a runway but don't light up mine. I put 5 LED puck lights on my awning rail and they light up the area immediately around my coach without disturbing the neighbors. I wired them through the awning rail to my middle porch light. This was the easiest route and the switch is already there. Since you don't feel your porch light is adequate, this may be a solution....be sure to wire everything temporarily until you're satisfied with the results, then mount them permanently. I did mine at a campsite and used clamps to hold the lights in place and clothespins to hold the wiring. Once satisfied, I drilled the holes and ran the wiring....good luck....Dennis

I agree with the unshielded scare lights comment. I've been through the experience of sitting outside trying to enjoy my campfire and being blinded by my neighbor's scare lights.

My last rv had the refrigerator on the driver's side. I mounted a flood light about 7' high, dropped the power cable down inside the fridge space and plugged it into the fridge outlet when I needed it. wouldn't have been much more trouble to have mounted a switch on the outside of the motorhome either.

On my trailer I did the led strip light under the awning.I ran the wires through the side to the inside, got lucky that I have crown molding to hide the wires where they came in.Ran to a switch by the door, using power from the under cabinet light.

The pucks on the awning rail might just work. Thats a good idea and seems easy to wire. Thanks

I bought a LED. String 5meters long -about 16'8" on ebay for about $25 and wired into the porch light, then glued it to the side of the coach light just under the awning rail. With the awning out, it is. Light enough to play cards on the patio.

With the awning in, the DW calls it the landing lights. If the awning had a part that didn't go out and allowed the bulbs to face the ground, that would be perfect.

The strip came with adhesive on the back which didn't work, so I got some 3M.adhesive used for bonding trim on cars.....about $4 for a tube the size of an extra large toothpaste tube.

The seller on ebay was efortown. I also bought G3 's to replace my interior halogens from him and have been very satisfied.

Looking for Free Wifi I noticed SSID " HRM_Police_Surveillance_Van_#2" Think it's safe to connect?

I just use a rechargeable Black & Decker fluorescent work light. Turn if off when I'm done cooking. Don't want the neighbors getting mad at me for to many lights. I could get carried away with lighting real easy.

Very thoughtful and your neighbors thank you every time! Just wish others would consider their neighbors more often.

I don't use flood lights for two reasons -
1. I don't want to get my neighbors angry.
2. I really don't want to light up my site like a WalMart parking lot.

Soft lighting is nice and does not offend other in the park. It give me enough light to get around. Usually a small fire and my rv door light is enough for me.

I bought 2 of these Motion Sensing floodlights. Secured with a velcro base they are very bright and the 3 D cell batteries last several trips. They are also nice in that you can leave them out and will light up should someone come within range. These work great for aiming at a table to play cards etc. I bought one other type of spot/flood and this one comes with both spot and flood lenses. Easy to swap out but you do have to wire to a 12v source. I used it as a backup light on the coach for additional lighting when backing hooked to a 30a relay.
