I asked this question in another thread, but am hoping the title of this thread draws more attention.

I have a 2005 Dutchman Durado 26 footer and cant find the switch that controls the house lights and appliances.

My dealer says it "should be on the wall as you walk in the door.

I SWEAR its not there.

Please...any suggestions??
I really dont want to drive 45 miles just to ask some one to point it out to me.

thanks

I have a 2007 Four Winds and the light switch you are looking for on the wall for the lights does not exist. Each light is controlled by individual switches on the lights. As far as onethat controls the appliances, I really dont understand what you mean. If you are taking about the battery cut off switch it should be by the door next to the porch light switch. Hope that helps. Good Luck

OK

I have it figured out!!

Problem was, that when I turned the battery disconnect switch ON, my lights would not work off of the battery alone. I needed to have the generator on, so I thought there might be a second switch.

BTW, the disconnect switch in the DURADO is located in a storage compartment next to the battery storage compartment. I always knew this, just thought that since my light didnt work, and that I had checked all circuit breakers and fuses on the fuse panel, there MUST be another switch.

NO there is not.

Here was the problem.

Under the stove is a panel (held on by philips head screws).

In THAT compartment is an electrical (bus) that ALL electric wires connect to.

EACH wire has a small, square, pop out circuit breaker.

That breaker had popped!

there must be 50 of those little buggers in there and there was no way to know they are there unless a service guy points them out to you!!!
So, prroblem solved at no cost to me, other than 3 days of aggrevation, and a 50 mile trip to the dealer.

Thanks Curtis...... ENDLESS SUMMER RV SALES in Frederick Md.

We have a Duchmen, Catalina Sport, the battery switch, is on the side "wall" just above the switch, for the electric steps.

This switch, turns on a rellay, that powers the coach 12v lamps, there are other switches, that power the out, side lamps and one ceiling lamp.

These switches, are normally placed, where you have access to them before you enter the the RV, take a good look all over, and you will eventually find it.

Good luck, happy hunting

The battery disconnect switch does not necessarily turn off the lights. It disconnects the battery from the lights, but if you are plugged in, the converter will still supply power to the lights. If you are not plugged in and the generator is not running, it will turn off the lights. Dutchman has wired it so the propane alarm, etc, is still connected to the battery when the battery disconnect switch is off.

The only wall mounted light switches in my Dutchman are switches that I installed. Over the bed and the toilet. Oops, I lied, the porch light has a wall mounted switch, factory installed.
