After 3 years, I decided I no longer liked the ride of the bilstein 4600's...the goofy yellow and blue ones.

I was really torn on the newer Rancho XL9000's.

Decided to get the bilstein 5100's. Got them on and have to say, that is a much better ride.

Oh and they look nice too. I was never found of the yellow and blue.

The 4600's were toast by the way...so on wonder why it was a tad rougher.

Anywho, cheers

Were the 5100's stiffer or softer than the yellow HD's (before the HD's were worn out)?

I'm looking to replace mine so I'm really interested in this thread. Color does matter to me also, but reliably is my main concern.

The 5100's are adjustable, if I'm not mistaken.

The 4600's done have a lifetime warranty...the 5100's do and the are valved specific.

Nope, these are not adjustable, they are specific valved to your truck (brand)

No one part number is the same for say a 2006 F250 or a Dodge 2500 same year. They will have different part numbers etc.

Hmmm. I'm adding a leveling kit to my TV (raises the front about 2". The back stays the same). I was thinking the 5100's would be a good fit.

I would say that they are more comfortable and compliant if that makes sense. I wouldn't say stiffer though.

Ford rides rough, period...besides changing out the front coils to a progressive rate, they are gonna ride rough but these are I think better than the HD's.

Hey, they make a full kit for the front...was told that is really the way to go if you are looking for a much better ride.

I couldn't go this route due to my garage height. I didn't want to risk it.

Where in West Texas are you? I come to Zephyr 2 times per month to help a buddy on the ranch.

Way further west than Zephyr. I live about 35 miles east of Lubbock. So I guess to be technical, the South Plains- although many Texans consider anything west of Fort Worth to be West TX.
