As in metal fabricator... Operating machinery that could kill you and not even care.

I have never had a major injury until today.

As a result, my left thumb will now be about 1/2" shorter.

The important question: are you a southpaw? If so...bummer!

Both my father and my late FIL had similar experiences. Both were machinists/tool & die makers all their lives and both of their accidents took place not at work but at home (table saw in one case, circular saw in the other). You can never be too careful, I guess.

I'm not sure what a dog is (I know what one is on a work bench) but it sounds awfully painful.... prayers for quick healing!!

All it takes is one split-second and 'whack'

Had 1/2" of right index finger clipped off working oil rigs (had my hand where I knew it should NOT have been and was slow on the removal).
Local Vet sewed it back on......only 'doctor' for hundreds of miles. It's a bit crooked but it's a whole finger. Took a while before the tingle went away.

Hope you heal up quickly.
