My first question of many I am sure. All my other campers I could remove the propane tanks to fill them If I need propane now where do you take your Fifth wheel to get them filled. I know its probably a silly question but I had to ask.

Mine are 30lb removable tanks, and I believe all the 40lb tanks remove, too. I'm unaware of any FW with permanently mounted tanks.

Many campgrounds and service stations sell propane. Easier to call before you go as many do not.

See, I have a lot to learn I thought the tanks were permanantly mounted. I haven't picked up our camper yet. I won't have it for a couple of weeks. Thanks

Ours are removable but I have never removed them...
Lots of places along the way where I just drive up next to the propane filling station and they hook and fill without removing them...
When one empties it automatically switches over to the full one I start looking for a convenient refill...

I don't know anywhere that will fill removable tanks while they are still attached to the rig. I know the Camping World were we fill our MH has the scales and still weights the tanks. The service tech told me when he filled our 20 lb grill tank that you can over fill if you don't weight the tanks. Unlike the mounted tanks that besides the safety that have a gage to check.

If filled properly you wont over fill an OPD tank. Your tech doesn't know how to fill them, apparently.

The Camping World just off I-95 near St Augustine, Fl will fill your tanks while mounted. Their pump rings up the charges by volume, not weight.
I have been to 2 CGs that charge by weight and require tank removal. If you see an old-fashioned scale near the propane fill station, chances are you need to remove the tank(s). Not a big deal and just a little inconvenient.

Interesting...I have had RV propane tanks (travel trailers and pop-up) filled for 20 years and have yet to remove any of them..
The tech is full of Baloney about overfilling if you don't weigh the tanks...
