Well I am the Russ guy and Galv is right if you are coming into Penasco from Sonoita turn right towards Laguna Shores follow it for a couple miles and turn left on the new road just past the railroad tracks. This is the path I bring groups in on. It is cool that Sonora is pouring so much resources into our infrastructure

We're back from Rocky Point and had a great time!

No issues at the border either way. We spent way too much time researching this process. As stated in a previous post, obtain Mexico auto insurance and have your passport.

The new route on Hwy 37 works out very well. What's the deal with all the "topes" on the new road? There were state police/military checkpoints and although a few vehicles were being searched we were waived through.

We stayed at "The Reef". No change from last year. It remains a beautiful location. We loved our site. The beach was great. Most ocean front sites were occupied. The Mexican food restaurant was closed. The wireless internet service was much better! There was some sort of off road race going on but the folks were very nice.

We Shopped at the new Walmart. I don't think it's completely finished and while the parking is much better, if we had needed more supplies, we would have gone to Super Ley.

We used a Visa card to pay for everything without any issues.

We plan on returning very soon.
