Do a search for "camco 50M-30F dogbone".....and you will come up with some hits like this:

I picked mine up at Cabela's when I was in there one day, but lots of places have them

I have adapters for any RV pedestal plug and they have all been used.

I also have adapters for 30A or 50A to 20A and this has proven useful to test the pedestal with a household tester and voltmeter and I've found problems. Testing the 50A plug this way is a "good" test in that you'll know at least 3 of the 4 wires are good.

No problem - Just pick up a RV50A-30A Adapter for your trailer 30A Shore Power Cable.

Will look something like this ($20)

Some WALMART stores carry them... This one shown is on AMAZON.

NOTE: This adapter is also handy to have around at camp sites experiencing low voltage on their 30A connection due to alot of folks being hooked-up. If they also have a 50A connection on the post, plug into it to see if that doesnt clear up the low voltage you may be experiencing.

Go to WalMart as they have them for $16. It's a all in one plug without the cord in the picture above.

This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

Yep, do the adapter. In most cases the 50A get way less use than the 30a, and in my experience, you get better power with less issues.

I prefer the dogbone type shown. The all-in-one makes it impossible to close the cover on the outlet box.

We've camped a number of places that had 50 or 20 amp outlets. Since you normally can't run the A/C off the 20 amp outlets (voltage drops too low because of undersized wire) it pays to have an adapter. Walmart carries them. Note not every place rents them out either!

Furthermore some places have 30 amp outlets that are too burned to use. If the 50 amp outlet is ok, we're golden.

If it's a CAMPGROUND they almost certainly also have 30 amp and 20 amp plugs. If it's an RV park they probably have adapters you can use for a refundable deposit.
