Spend some time this morning cleaning some of the factory sealant from around my outside kitchen door trim. Had been getting some leaks during the rainy times and I noticed some low spots on the sealant the factory used. Of course in addition to the factory Dicor type sealant (stuff that is still pliable) I also find evidence of silicone sealer as well. Then there are the screw holes behind the hard trim in the sheet metal skin that are just there.

After cleaning the gap up I used blue painters tape to give me a clean edge with the Dicor (NON self-leveling) I applied it and wiped it down with a wet finger. For those of you that use the tape for sharp edges how long before you removed the tape? I've done a couple of test pulls (been bout 5 hours) and I still get the spiderweb strings from the Dicor as I pulled it off.

You know if more dealers and manufacturers read this forum it sure would give us alot more time in the campground and not in the driveway. Don't even ask about my stripped tongue jack!

Later....Scotty

Tube says make sure your application area is nice and clean....good luck.

I pulled it off late yesterday evening. Wasn't too bad and I could still work the Dicor but it wasnt sticky. Few strings but lot better than earlier. Looks good.

Forecast was for rain today but so far so good. The more time the better.
