I had popup gizmo's on our Popup and now 4 years on our Hybrid and woudln't do without them. They make a big difference in the heat in the summer time and also help on the condensation. I also recommend a cracked window but the Gizmo's is a no brainer in my opinion.

I ordered high wind gizmos. I liked the bungee cords instead of clips. Thanks for all the advice. I hope they help our condensation problem and warm it up when it is cool outside. We are anxious to go camping. Thanks again

I guess I really have the "REFUGEE" look with my 9x12 tarp over the bed ends. These work out great for the hot/cold thing with tent fabric... Also cuts down big time on condensation inside. I run a fan all time inside as well to keep condensation down.
Been doing this for years. I never could afford the POPUP GIZMOS like shown here...

My 9x12 tarps are held in place with stretch rope. Before I raise the roof when setting up I install one of these over both tent bed ends using the rain gutters held in place with a long stretch rope. Then I can setup pretty good even when it is raining as I will be working under the tarp pulling out the bed ends etc.
I think it neatly wraps around the whole tent bed area - never really thought about it looking trashy - sure does work good for us.
you notice it covers all the tent bed windows - that is by choice as it gives alot more privacy having the tarps over the windows. Another good thing is I can change color schemes. I like the blue tarps but the wife likes the silver color - you can see who wins this battle...

Nah, yours looks fine, when I did it the blue tarps were hanging all the way down to the ground, I didn't spend the time to make it look neat like you do.

I've only read good things about the popup gizmos, but in my 10 years of hybrid ownership I haven't found a real need. Condensation is minimal because I always keep a window unzippered at the top and usually run the fan.
I do keep a 5'x7' tarp handy with some clips and cords, just in case it gets really cold. But I've only used it once. Kept the heat in, but heat isn't my issue.
If I did more camping outside the Northeast where it got really hot at night, I'd invest in one. But I find the condensation issue to be a non-factor if you can sleep with the window cracked.

Popup Gizmos are not really for condensation. They are more of an effective heat barrier. Come to Texas in the summer .... you will find that you need them, especially if your tree cover is sparse to nonexistent.

You lost me. I get condensation when it's warm inside and cooler outside, like New England nights in April. When It's in the 30's or 40's and the heat is on I do leave a window or 2 cracked, but not much.

Padlin,
I read my post and I may not have been clear.
Condensation: Because I leave my window opened and the fan going, condensation has never been an issue, so the addition of the gizmo is unnecessary for me.
Temperature: because I do spring/summer/fall camping in the Northeast, I don't see the severe weather that would benefit from the added insulation that the Gizmo provides.
So I don't personally need one. But very few items receive such unanimous approval and I'd be very comfortable recommending one if asked about a temperature and/or condensation problem.
