Hey all,
We just picked up a 5er last fall. In the past we tent camped, so any old plot of land would do. Now, with a big trailer that needs power and sewer and all, we have to be a little more selective.
What are you all using to find good RV parks along your trip route? Are you using the planner & park finder on Good Sam or other web sites or what?
Looking for something that can home in on an area with info I can trust.
Thanks in advance.

I use Streets and Trips on my laptop mostly. It has all the campgrounds that in the Woodall's Campground directy. It makes it easy to do a lot of planning right on your laptop or desktop computer.
I also carry a copy of the TratilerLife campground directory on our trips. Between Streets and Trips and TrailerLife I can find something that meets our needs for a night or much longer stay.

For trip planning I use free things on the internet:
I use www.mapquest.com to map the route and pinpoint the stops.
I then use www.woodalls.com to search for campgrounds in the area where we stop.
I can then go back and add the exact address to the stop and reroute the map.
Then I bought the Rand McNally RVND5510 GPS for routing. I input the route and stops into the GPS.
I use www.recreation.gov to book Corps of Engineers and National Park campgrounds. I use www.reserveamerica.com to book some state parks and commercial campgrounds.
We subscribe to Passport America (half price camping) also.

There are a ton of apps for smart phones and tablets. We use: Oh Ranger, Allstays RVpark finder, Woodall's and Passport America all on our iPhones or our iPad.

I do not open any of my CG books anymore. I like this site the best as each state's CGs are on a map. Also a good section on boondocking ideas. For public CG's I like this site the best and it uses a map too.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

These are 2 sites I use:
rvparkreviews.com
campgroundgallery.com This one is more for the southern area ie NC, SC, VA but it is a nice site.
We also have the next exit book for longer travels and we do internet searches. The parks & campgrounds forum on here is very helpful too.

Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

2X on RV Park Reviews.
Another useful website is AllStays Camp & RV. If you have a smart phone, check out their app.
If you prefer non commercial campgrounds, try the Camp Where app.
