we were fishing at antero this weekend and we used the water heater, with the propane. we also had about 35 to 45 mile hr winds all day. when we turned the water heater on it smelled like fumes in the camper, put the co2 alarm never went off. just wondering if it was the wind blowing. never smelled when it was off. the water heater was on the side the wind was blowing. but we didnt blow up either. lol. what do you think. and all the fittings were tight.

Ours will do that, fill up the camper sometimes or at least enough that you can smell the exhaust but has never set off alarm, the kitchen window is pretty close and above-enough air will blow fumes from water heater in.

I've had exhaust fumes from the furnace blow back into my old camper on occasion, if the wind was just right. I don't know where the fumes were coming in. All the appliances were mounted together in the same front corner of the camper, so possibly they came in through one of the other appliance vents.
