X - 3! Well over 20 years now. And use it at home and it has gone through lots of black outs. Don't know what to tell you. If it were me, I'd tear into it and see what is burned up and preventing it from starting up again.
Have you tried to unplug it for a while and then plug it back in?
Buy a "Kill-a-Watt" (under $30 at Lowe's or Home Depot) and check your voltages, power factor (on generator). You can also see frequency. No RVer should be without one, anyway.
other than a power surge that doesn't make sense. no different from turning it off and back on manually. but get a $17 ceramic cube and save your money.

Sounds as if your surge surpresser is not working. I'm not sure if you have one built into your inverter or not. Better search out that situation before buying another heater.
Short of a lighting strike a heater with out digital controls should not fail because the power is interrupted.
The only thing I can think of is you have a 50 amp coach and somehow the outlet you are using is getting hit with 250VAC temporarily because it is miss wired at the breaker box and I'm not sure how even that would happen.
If you have had the failure at different outlets then??
