The electric step on my 2003 Winnebago Adventurer does not retract all the way when you close the door. It sticks out a couple of inches. However, when it starts to retract and i gently help it by lifting up on it with my foot, it retracts completely. Does anyone know if there is an adjustment for this. Thanks.
I had a similar problem with our 96 Southwind. Use compressed air to blow out all the joints on the step. They probably are full of mud and rust. After they are clean use a good lubricant, not WD 40. Hopefully it will solve your problem, it worked for me.

Yes, use penetrating (liquid wrench) on all joints and pivot points, let sit for a few hours, then extend and retract about 10 times. Then use water to spray off the Liquid wrench and spray white grease into the joints. The test for stuck linkages is to remove the linkage pin to the step and IF you CANNOT push the steps up with 1 finger, the linkages are corroded. Once you have it cleaned and lubed you should be able to push then retracted with 1 finger. A FASTER way to do above is to remove that pin to the linkage and spray with the Liquid Wrench and using your hand operate the extend and retract to work the liquid into the linkages. That is what I do at the shop. BTW, this type problem is one of the reasons the motors fail. Doug
