I'd like to install a programmable thermostat in my 2011 Canyon Star, primarily to be able to have the furnace come on before we get up. I have one furnace, but two roof A/Cs. Is there a programmable thermostat that is capable of handling two A/Cs?

I'm starting to research a unit for the bedroom. Our 13.5 Coleman-Mach unit does not keep up with the Florida Sun.

Right now I'm leaning toward the Dometic Penquin with a heat strip. I would like the multi zone thermostat to control each a/c unit, the furnace, and the heat strips in the penquin. The thermostat is in the bedroom...so a remote temp sensor for the living area would also be needed.

I'm trying to find an installation manual for the New Zone Control Thermostat from Dometic...to see if all this is feasible, and if the unit can control a Coleman-Mach, Dometic Penquin, Gas Furnace, and heat strip in teh Penquin. If it will do all that --- It would be a great solution for us.

IF you have the CCC2 you are all set
If you have the older 5 button CCC 1, then to upgrade to the CCC2 will require BOTH AC control boards replaced as well as buying the watt CCC2 tstat. There is NO aftermarket system that will plug and play for your factory system which should be a Dometic Roof AC system. Now if the furnace is your ONLY programmable item you want to control, you can disconnect the furnace from the AC control system AT the furnace (just 2 wires) and install an aftermarket type programmable tstat that would only control the furnace. I am assuming Newmar still installs Dometic AC units and controls on your 2011. Last, IF you have Dometic then NO OTHER tstat or system can be used on your RV, other than Dometic CCC systems. But as I stated, you CAN use another type just for your furnace. Doug

Actually, the more I research --- the more the digital comfort control system looks like a nightmare. I think I would be asking for trouble to make a big deal out of nothing. Think I'll stick with dial controls on the grill for the second unit.

Do your roof airs have remote sensors that can signal the thermostat when it's time to start?

Thanks, Doug. Yes, I have the five-button CCC1. I may consider your suggestion of a separate t'stat just for the furnace.
