A couple of Friends and I are looking to plan a trip the weekend of April 20th.

We are based in Atlanta and are open to a 2 hour+ Drive

We have a 40'Phaeton and friends have essentially the same thing.

Would love to get your ideas for the best campground, events or other cool places to go

Thanks ahead of time for your help!

We used to live in Atlanta too. We are now in San Antonio, TX. You may want to check into Dillard, GA. The main attraction there is the Dillard House. There is a nice campground to stay. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name of it. Just an idea. Also, Stone Mountain has some nice premium sites if you decide to stay in town.

Hope you and your friends find something! Happy travels and stay safe,

Like jffhlbrt1, we lived north of Atlanta and are now in San Antonio. Helen was a great place to rent a cabin for a weekend. Not just during Octoberfest, but all year long. Especially nice is Spring with flowering bushes and trees, etc. Most of the Craft Shows or County Fairs/Festivals are in the Fall.

Or head South to Callaway Gardens. It's less than 2 hrs. FDR's Little White House.

We're going to try to visit LBJ's Texas White House while in SA.

The campground in Dillard is River Vista. Great place!

Well, you stay at the Georgia Mountain Campground in Hiawassee and attend one of the great shows they have there. As was mentioned there are very few festivals in the spring.
