I look forward to reading the comments from folks here who tow with one.
I drove one when they first came out...while I wasn't that hot on the particular truck I drove (a loaded 1500 QC 4x4 Laramie Longhorn, or something like that), it rode very nicely and handled pretty well (for a 6500lb quad cab 4WD pickup), and the Hemi had plenty of power. It did make me wonder how well a base-model 2WD regular cab shortbox might go with Hemi power.

Dodge put in rear coils in the Ram to improve the ride and handling.
For normal driving and light towing they probably work fine.
For heavier towing a WDH probably works good to.
For those who need to push the limits of the 1/2 ton then the option of air assist sounds like icing on the cake. You get the best of any situation you want the truck to handle. Firm ride when towing HD and a softer ride with good handling when running solo.

From what i read the air suspension is designed for more than just stabilizing a load. In fact I dont recall reading that the payload ratings would be increased. They have the 1500hd for that. There are four height settings on the new air system to give more body clearance when needed and the truck lowers itself at highway speeds for better fuel economy. Sounds like a great (and for now exclusive) setup in a half ton.
Typically the half ton changes roll to the HD's the following model year. WIll be interesting to see if Chrysler makes an air suspension option in the HD's

The new air suspension sounds great, but my bet is that it's going to be a pain to set up a WDH since its a "load leveling" system. On top of that, I've read that the truck drops to "Aero mode" at speed. So by my guess you would have to set the hitch up in this "aero mode" and always drive like that with the trailer in order to not unload the hitch. Any word on how much payload it might have? The RAM 1500HD has a lot but I thought it was only available with a regular cab and long bed with leaf springs instead of coils?

Does it mean I'm getting old when I remember the debate about using anything but leaf springs in the front of 4X4 vehicles. Coils and torsion bars were for trips to the grocery store, nothing else.

To the OP, where did you pull that out of, your nether regions? You have experience with this vehicle on what scale? You've towed with this vehicle for how long? Do you even know what you're talking about? You come across a very uneducated. BTW, reviewing your prior post, it seems you are nothing more than a pathetic troll seeking attention. Why put your ignorance on display for all to see?
