History........

2009 - Ram 1500 is re-modeled...

amongst other things rear suspension changes from leafs to coils!

2013 - Ram 1500 is re-modeled...

amongst other things made available...'factory fitted rear air suspension assist' for rear coils!

OK... get your popcorn snack ready...

I declare the rear air suspension to be NOTHING MORE THEN A BAND-AID! LOL.

1400 lb. payload makes it mostly a moot point.

The one post I've read so far on here about someone towing with a rear coil sprung Dodge 1500, they were complaining about the rear springs being too mushy and the truck squatting too much with a hitch weight that was within the payload ratings of the truck. And the payload rating isn't very high, as Skip mentioned. They were asking what could be done to stiffen it up and reduce the sag.
