Getting the 5'r ready for use this spring. Put lots of stuff back in. Install batteries in smoke detectors, CO detector, clocks, and main battery. Plug in to house electric, to charge the on board battery. And all the chairs, linens, and other stuff too.
So a couple weeks later, I unroll my electric awning. To dry it out and get it ready for cleaning. First time this year. Funny...but I need to hit the button on the 'RETRACT' side of the switch to put it out. Hmm...that's backwards. Guess when I rolled it up last fall, I wasn't paying attention. Oh well, I rolled it up correctly this time. How can I be so dumb...but otherwise no big deal.
Then, a guy comes over and wants to see our 5th wheel. OK...no problem. We go into the trailer and I put out the slides. Funny....but I have to push the button on the 'IN' side of the switch to make them go OUT. On all three slide outs. Whats up with that? Everything else works normally, as it should. Lights, TV's, fridge. Looks like I have a problem somewhere.
Oh...I found the problem. Want to guess what happened? Hint...Never thought this could happen.

If it makes you feel any better, I hooked up two six volts back wards and ruined them both. had to get new batteries. what really hurt was I just bought them not two days before. four new batteries inside of a week. yes indeed, it never amazes me how some people live as long as they do for as stupid as they are.
