well here it is Easter Sunday and just piddling with the Roo after the big feed, and realized the covers are not on the 2 vent pipes (right word?) that stick up on the roof. There is a Lowes open today I saw but not my dealer of course. Are these standard 2-2 1/2" PVC end covers or is there something about them that I need to get these from dealer? If I can't get them today, should I put taped on bowls or cups or tape anyway over these? I admit I'm not even sure where they go, I guess the one by bathroom goes down in walls there and other?

Thanks

If you can find that that fit from Lowes they should work just fine. Mine were taken off by a hail storm last fall and I've never bothered to replace them yet. I figure it would need to rain about 20 feet of rain to have much of any effect on my tanks

Regular pvc pipe caps (covers) from Lowes or HD will not work. These pipes are vents for your black and gray tanks. This is what you need. RV vent pipe covers

Call Forest River. They may send you a set. The did for me. Mine were either not on the trailer from the factory or came off somewhere on the road. They sent me a pair at no cost.

Or you can take the useless cover off and either replace them with a set of 'shark fins' or the frugal (cheaper) version is to go to Lowes/Home Depot and get a pvc "T" and do this: http://rv-living-magazine.com/rv-tank-vents.html

It could help release gas but they are there to allow air flow so the water will drain.
