We've been camping at a dry state park for several days, and tomorrow we're heading south on 191 to Moab. I'd love to fill my water tank near Vernal, does anyone know of a spot? Thanks in advance.

Give the Ashley National Forest's Vernal Ranger District office a call at 435-789-1181. They should be able to direct you to water.

Those parks haven't turned on their water yet this year, that's where we're staying.

What about Dinosaur National Monument? We had water at campgrounds on Flaming Gorge but they might not be open yet.

Then try the KOA on Hwy 191 (N. Vernal Ave)about 1 mile north of downtown Vernal

That's exactly what we did, $5 bucks and we pulled into a site, filled our tank and moved on. They were nice about it,and it worked out well. I'd never had to find water at a place I wasn't camping before, so I wasn't sure if it was possible. Thanks for the suggestions.
