Anyone ever stayed at Bayview Motel, Chalets and RV Park in Alma? Or Ponderosa Pines, Hopewell? I'd like a nice private rv park fairly close to Fundy Nat. Park, maybe 1 hour away or less. Like to be close to the ocean. I have a 24ft TT, 1 wife and 1 small dog. Last two weeks of August. Also looking for a park on Cape Breton Island too?
We stayed at Ponderosa Pines last year. I wouldn't say it was secluded bib the sites were fairly big. We found most campgrounds were open to your neighbors in the Maritimes just because the nature of the landscape is open. They had a really nice walking trail out to the ocean and our campsite backed onto a bay. The store had a pool table our boys played pool on in the evening. It was a quiet well maintained campground. We would go back there. It is VERY close to Hopewell rocks and only 45 min from Fundy NP. Highly recommended.

At Hopewell Rocks, try to see both high and low tides to appreciate the amazing tidal range.
On Cape Breton, we stayed at:
Mac Leod's Beach & Campsite - Some folks have posted that it was crowded, but when we were there in June there were only a few campers. Nice beach and sunsets over the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Take the short trail to the top of the bluff and use binoculars to check for whales in the Gulf.
Hideaway Campground & Oyster Market - at South Harbor in the Cape Breton Highlands. Just down the road we stopped at Neils Harbor to watch the lobster boats. Not a tourist stop, but a picturesque village with a lighthouse and rocky shore.
Bras d'Or Lakes Campground Near Baddeck. The nearby Alexander Graham Bell museum was much more than we had expected.
Louisbourg RV Park - small and tight, but right next to the harbor for watching the boats. Fortress Louisbourg is only a couple of miles away and is a don't miss. IMO better than Williamsburg in Virginia.
Let's put it this way. Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) ran a contest to have some regional music. People voted for the singer songwriter and for the place. In New Brunswick, David Myles was selected to write the song and the place to write about selected is Hopewell Rocks.
