Any one using Spic & Span with some bleach for cleaning their rubber roofs on their travel trailers?
If so what ratio are you using? Thanks in advance.

Not sure I would use bleach on the roof. Bleach affects the fundamental properties of so many things. I can't be good for rubber or Vinyl.

Spic N Span works fine without bleach if you wash your roof on a regular basis. BTW I wouldn't use bleach on my roof

Spic and span reacts with bleach (an exothermic reaction, in chemspeak). You don't want that happening in a bucket or on your roof. What you need for cleaning an EPDM roof is a surfactant (soap) and a mildicide, if you have a black streak or leaf problem. Lysol branded cleaners have both, soap and phenol, a mildicide.

Mild soap and a carefully driven soft brush. I only do this every two years prior to resealing openings. Whatever you use is going to run down the sides and a harsh detergent could dry out the rubber roof making it brittle causing more problems. What is the problem with a dirty roof anyway?

We have to park our trailer outside under a Live Oak tree.
I have washed the roof over the last three years, since it was new, with McGuires Car Wash soap, but the leaf and sap stains have left a lot of stains. Plus some mildew/mold dark spots have accumulated.
Thanks for not recommending bleach for the mildew/mold spots. I was thinking it might be alright.
Interesting comments about Lysol products. Any particular Lysol soap would be the best?
