looking for a side screen door for my 2006 Adventurous Roadtrek we need something to keep the door open and not let the bug in we love are van and go camping a lot.
We bought a screen at Walmart for $14 this week and installed it yesterday. It works well but we had to cut about a foot off the bottom. We have a Sprinter GS Vista Cruiser. I'll send you pics when we get back from the beach. We are staying at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet SC . Really nice here!
This is the detailed drawing on how to make it. The two screen pieces are designed to overlap 2".
Here are some of the accessory materials from a fabric and sewing shop. The nylong screen material is available at about any hardware store for less than $10.

John,
That Magic Mesh screen won't work on a Sprinter sliding door opening that is irregular and curved.
Great West Vans has a solution with their Sprinter Legend and have had so for a good 3 or 4 years. I am perplexed other converters haven't answered the bell on a screen door solution. It is one of the nicest things going with my B.
I ordered a Magic Mesh screen for the side door on my camper van. It looks like it will work. Going to attach it with velcro down each side and be able to roll it up and store it over the door when not using it.
I'd be interested in seeing if the Magic Mesh works on my Roadtrek too. OldRadios please let us know if it works on your van. I was just looking at their website earlier and was wondering if it would work.
I now have this Great West Van Legend side sliding accordion screen door and don't know why the other converters haven't figured out an offering similar to it. To the best of my knowledge not a single other Sprinter converter even has an option to suggest.
Screen is spring loaded so it will snap open...
Half the opening is a fixed screen over the kitchen counter.
When in a campground we can leave the sliding door open so we can come and go easily and it still keeps the cat inside...
