With all the subsystems going on in my motorhome, I'm wondering what is giving other owners their biggest headaches. Some examples:
Generator operation and maintenance
Leveling system
Satellite receiver
Lighting system
Security system
Slide-out motor system
What other things are problematic with your motorhome? Is there any way to manage all these components? I'd really like to get some input on this topic.
Thx

DrHitch . . .
Are you looking for "proactive "electrical" maintenance" schedule" or what exactly are you trying to avoid. A lot of us haven't had any issue(s) with what you listed. (at least I haven't the slightest issue "electrically")
I do have a small roof water leak that I haven't located yet, and the chassis A/C compressor seized once requiring replacement. Let's see, what else...I had a gasket on the exhaust brake burn through, leak, and start "whistling." (R & R gaskets) Oh, and had to have the computer firmware updated at CUMMINS (under warranty though)
Aside from those, I really haven't had any real nasty problems, but nothing really electrical either. I do have to water the batteries frequently. (every couple of months or so - that is easily my most irritating "electrical maintenance item" - hard to access some cells)

The biggest source of trouble with our coach is the hot water heat. It has one small part that always fails.
The other problem we have is our Atwood levellegs. Ihave to reset them again.

In 8 years of ownership and 99,000 miles we have had two electrical failures.
1. Generator would not run, phase controller got its nose out of joint. Quick fix seem to remember $150 tech charge. Happened in 7th year of ownership, nothing to be done to prevent - stuff happens.
2. This past winter, Bedroom Slideout motor quit with bedroom extended, when else? had road service (coach-net) retract room and book appointment for repair. Lesson learned - learn how to retract slideout room manually and where motor is and how to change it out before you wake up in WalMart parking lot in Fort Stockton TX needing to get underway.
Batteries are batteries, they want attention once a month to assure water levels. Uless they are AGM. That's it in this coach.

Other than replacing the isolator solenoid and cooling fans on back of refrigerator a couple of times, and 1 burnt wire in the ATS, no major problems with electrical system in our 12years of ownership.

Stuff happens;
You really can't plan on any particular type of failure what fails on some rigs may never fail on others.
I don't think I have ever had the same failure twice.

The Intellitec battery control center. First the board went then the isolator solenoid. Now it's not charging the coach batteries again...Oy.
