We just got back from a beutiful Easter weekend camp outing. It was really a great trip, even though the guy that pulled in across the street annoyed me at first... First off there were plenty of sites available and its like the guy that parks next to your brand new car that you parked in the last spot at the store......he picks the site right across the street, but its a real nice site so oh well, no biggy. But, first thing after he sets up, the darn radio comes on. Now I love music, but personally never listen at the camp site. To me part of camping is the nature sounds and quite of the outdoors. Luckily it wasnt too loud and the music could have been worse. I am a Jason Aldean / Luke Bryan guy and my neighbor had everything from Johny Cash to Madona to the BG'S to Lady Gaga...... He was kinda stuck in the 80s...........

So, It got me wondering. Do must enjoy music while camping or enjoy the peace and quite. Also, you have to understand I am in the "burbs" so my neighbor sneezes I say bless you, the houses are close. Thats why I love camping to get away from that.

So, I am not alone in this

For people that do listen, I have always wondered why they think others want to hear their music. Or mayby they dont care if you can hear it

I do listen to music sometimes while outside but I keep it low enough to not disturb the neighbors. After I turn on the outside speakers I'll walk around the TT to see how far it can be heard and turn it down if neccesary.

There's no reason to have music loud enough to be heard outside of your campsite.

Inconsiderate of others.

I walk from one end of my campsite to the other too make sure my radio/ipod can't be heard outside of my site.

I don't go camping to listen to other people's music, either. The phenomenon of people preferring to camp on top of the only other folks in the entire campground has been commented upon before here. For reasons known only to God, it appears that many folks cannot tolerate being "alone." Especially not in the woods, evidently. I'm not one of them, and in fact, have been known to go out of my way to land as far away from the neighbors as possible in such circumstances.

When I camp I want the peace and quiet, so no music for me either. And I'd always try to be cognizant of my neighbors.
