This will be our first "long" road trip, if you call a week long. We've only done weekend trips in our RV and we've stayed relatively close (within an hour or two). And we got a lake side spot! So we're pumped about our upcoming trip. We've also heard it's a beautiful park!
If you happen to be there at the end of April, let us know! Lol

We have 11 days booked there in mid-June. Lots to do in that area. Head up Route 7 and visit Mount Magazine State Park. It has a very nice lodge that is great for lunch. You can burn off lunch hiking trails on the mountain. If you head over to Lake Outicha State Park they have a park ranger led lake cruise that is really nice. One of the many good places to eat is the Homeplate restaurant on Rt 7 just north of Hot Springs Village.
Enjoy camping in Arkansas!

If you run out of activities in HS, there are several very nice state parks close enough for day trips. We discovered future places to camp by doing this. You can do two a day and still be back to lake Catherine in plenty of time for dinner. If you go to Mt Magazine, do the easy .5 mile hike to the highest point in Arkansas. All of the Arkansas State parks are gems.
Downtown Hot Springs is great touristy area. Bath house run by national park service. New small Gangster Museum downtown. Duck boats tour Lake Hamilton.

If you have an adventuresome family, excitement is the key word at Magic Springs theme park and Crystal Falls water park. Play in interactive wonder in the Mid-America Science Museum. As you drive through the Hot Springs National Park, be sure to see the mountains in full panorama from the Hot Springs Mountain Tower or take the whole family digging for treasures in a quartz crystal mine.
My husband was born in Hot Springs. His father used to haul gangsters in his taxi. Enjoy your trip!
