We were at teh local COE this weekend. Waited for most of the folks to head out then packed up ourselves. Went to the dump station and emptied the tanks. Even though I was wearing gloves I still pulled forward and went in teh bathhouse by the dump station to wash my hands.

So I come out and the guy behind me is parked with his trailer tires in the 3ft by 3 ft concrete dump pit. Yep he pulled the handle and let it fly every where with no hose.

Sorry folks but that is just plain gross.

This COE you make a u-turn to get in the dump area and then antoher to get headed back out. As we went back by, he was hooking up his black tank rinser.

Not the first time I have seen gross things like that. Once saw a guy picking berries with inches of the dump. Another time a fella with a PU camper with the valve way up underneath and he is crawling around looking up and pulls the handle. YUP face full of poo.
Some things you can fix, stupid is one you just cant

Pulled into a rest stop area after a long week of boondocking... This particular stop has a free trailer dump which I have used a couple of times. I pull up behind a big fancy class A diesel pusher and here is what I see.
The dump is overflowing! There was an actual pond of scum a good 6" deep and guess what. This guy, standing is in the middle of the scum wearing sandals and no gloves, holding his hose while he feels around for the inlet pipe! He then bends down and tries to shove the hose in... No luck, so he throws it down in the glick and commences to pull the valve... That is when he looked around and saw us watching him. He makes a comment "I guess it's full", then picks up his hose, which was now also covered in glick, puts into one of his compartments, walks to the drivers door and just jumps in, fires up and leaves. Thank G, because we couldn't pull out until he moved and it really stunk.

My pet peeve were the guys who put the end of their sstinky slinky over the HOSE BIB of the fresh water supply at their site after packing up to leave a full service site.

Now the next person arrives and unknowingly treats himself and family to a bunch of the last folks bacteria.

I always carried a spray bottle full of bleach mixture to give that bib a good rinse down before going anywhere neat it with my fresh hose.

Another pet peeve, although not as frequently seen, is using the site's picnic table to either drape the sewer hose over or curl it up before stowing it away.

There are all manner of ill-born out there and you gotta think ahead of them constantly.

Today is just the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!

Don't forget the ones who fill their fresh water tanks with the hose at the dump station. Yuk.

THE best one I watched was a camper that either hooked up the hose wrong or it broke so they dumped their black tank into a black garbage bag. [emoticon] And THEN tried carrying the sloshing bag around looking for a place to dump it.

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
