Has anyone out there put an extra deadbolt in their TT's door? Our guard dog passed away this winter and DW would like a little more security when we camp this summer. Does anyone sell a kit for this? I'd hate to have to do all the camping by myself this year... Thanks!

These doors are not all that save no matter how many locks you put on them. They are alum frame so a crowbar just slips right between the door jam and bends it open. Doesnt even slow them down haha...

Maybe someone on here has found a better lock...

At least you dont have a POPUP haha... On mine you just slip your hand thru the door vecro flap and reach inside and unlock the door. It is faster for me to do this carrying groceries into the trailer then sitting things down to get the key out of my pocket...

12VDC motion detectors for outside lights and/or silent alarm are a good deal for the trailers.

My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - PM me

You have people trying to break in when you're camping? Seriously, as said above, you may as well leave the door open for all the 'security' they provide.

As above...a second dead bolt is not going to stop someone who is already trying to break through an existing lock with dead bolt. I would look to other potential deterents such as a loud air horn, pepper or bear spray, or a firearm (if you know how to use it).

Why not visit a few shelters and find a new best friend. A nice German Shepherd is better than any deadbolt!!!

That is what worked for us. It's a no-lose deal. I couldn't imagine living without a dog.

And without us, our dog wouldn't be living.

I really don't feel "unsafe' when I camp....just think of all the tent campers with no deadbolts
