Our trailer has no roof vent in the bedroom, and really wish it did. I am thinking of adding one, but wanted to know of any tips or problems I may encounter.
I am really handy when it comes to things like this, but I would like to ask and see if anyone has done this.

I put one in our old trailer, not hard. Make sure you cut between studs. I think vent is about the same dimension as stud spacing. Use proper sealing tape under flange for your roof type, then Dicor on top of flange and screws. I did run into some wires that had enough slack to move aside. One concern will be if your roof has a/c ducts, mine did not and i have no idea how to get around that. Hopefully you will get more info. Good luck.

Use a stud finder and CUT BETWEEN THE ROOF BEAMS!
Do not cut any structural beams.
Cut a small hole first and check inside roof area.

Just as a thought...if the possibility exists that you'll ever want to replace that vent with a second a/c unit... Make sure to download some installation instructions from the model you'd consider.

I'm thinking a duo therm Penguin 11,000 BTU low profile unit. Find a location that not only fits between trusses...but has the required clearances for the rooftop unit, the ceiling register, and is within the number of digress of slope...the a/c unit can operate with.

Like I say...just in case... I think they all drop into the same 14x14 cutout...
