Yea, the thing is we kind of have an agreement. I really want to back out. The agreement is per suitable financing. They have no money of mine. Not sure if I can back out or not. They are so busy it couldn't be ready for pickup for 2 weeks.
I've just felt sick about this since doing further research. With cars I'm good. With campers, no clue.

Not sure if you are willing to travel, but there are 2 on rvtrader.com for less. One of them is a 2009 though($9900) the 2010 is $11263 asking prices. If nothing else, you can use this info for bargaining with your dealer. I would not say they are "screwing" you. If you like the trailer enough, it may just be worth it. I paid $18000 for a new 2011 23B(Jayco Hybrid) in May of 2010.
Good Luck!

When I purchased mine 2 years ago, I decided to call a local credit union for financing while the dealer was trying to get me financing also. The dealer got me financing at a much higher rate compared to my credit union. That is were a I felt they were really screwing with me. I believe they do not search for the best rate as much as they look for incentives from banks for themselves.
Also, You can back out even if they get financing. Just tell them you do not like the rate they find.

Like I said before, if you really want to back out just tell them. If you really like the camper, just do it. You won't regret the move from a popup to the hybrid. I would still check with a local bank or credit union for a better interest rate.
Enjoy your new trailer!!

do a trade-in is a losing game.
sell it yourself on Craig's List and don't let the dealer rip you off.
you end up getting a better deal all around.
i've sold my own vehicles and trailers for over 35 years now and NEVER did a trade-in.
a trade-in has only one winner and it's the dealer.
before you sign the papers, get a quote from RVDirect on the Jayco. they used to have pickups in Des Moines.

The 17c is no longer made. I got a quote for a 17z for $14,110 with oven and tech package. Doesnt makes it look like I'm not getting a very good deal on the used one. Especially since the discount is padded with trade.

Just tell them the truth, you've researched the trailer and found it's over priced. You haven't signed yet and they have none of your money. Give them an acceptable price and let them decide.

And since you would be financing anyway, it doesn't sound like the payment would be all that much more. Some people like the U-shaped dinette in the 17C so if you like it, great. Personally, I prefer the couch and dinette in the 17Z. No climbing over the dinette to get into the front bunk.
