Five gallon tanks (the most common size) are considered 20 lb bottles, but they will only fill them to 80%, so 4 gallons. Best local price I've seen recently (N. Calif) is $2.85/gallon.

I filled two 30 pounders and one 20 pounder, for a total of 18.4 gallons of propane at $2.889 per gallon, plus a $0.95 RCC fee.

Damifino, some fee they add on, probably due to EPA regulations or some such thing, that SOMEBODY has to pay for, so the customer gets stuck with it.
It is only $0.95, and I only pay it once or twice a year, so I don't bother to question it.
I waste more than that taking a long, hot soak in the bath tub once a week!
