Very confused today by an experience at Camping World in Albq, NM.
Had leak coming from a faucet and thought I may need a new PEX fitting. Service provided me a part, but I then asked at the Warranty Desk (have Jayco Plus Ext Contract) about scheduling an appt in the event I was unable to solve.
Their response: "We are about 2 weeks behind". I explained we were Full Timers on the road wanting to move West. Same person responded "Give me a call an hour in advance of getting here and we can work something out". So, we went from 14 days to 1 hr--HUH?
I ended up solving. But, with prime time RV season coming up, do you experienced folks, especially having a warranty, find that most repair shops will try to accommodate quicker than the average weekender?
Day 6 of this 365 day journey and still gathering strategies in advance of a foregone conclusion that I will not be able to solve every issue.
Thanks in advance.

Sad to say, time to sell to a good home.

As an extended traveler and now a full timer, I've had good luck with most repairs I couldn't make myself. The only issues I've had is with the Gener-crap LP generator. Most don't even want to work on them and it's hard to find a G-O-O-D authorized tech that is worth his salt. Aside from that, life is good!

Try RV Service Reviews. We've had good luck with issues we couldn't solve ourselves.
I can't recall ever hearing something good about service done at Camping World, but then most people don't air their clean laundry. I think I'd save an official RV repair shop for times when I couldn't find anyone else reputable and duct tape has failed. They're almost always going to charge you all the market will bear, and then some.

Actually had a great experience with the Albuquerque Camping World repair folks. Had an emergency issue and while it took longer to repair than they said, it was because they didn't have the part and knew we needed to be on our way and so they sourced a similar part locally and had to send someone across town to get it. For us they were very professional.

Sounds like they were bending over backwards to take care of you. Maybe someone was going to work longer hours, reschedule existing customers of just fit you in while between other jobs.
In the aviation business I did this all the time even though my backlog was several weeks.

Most places will slot in emergencies ahead of regular work. They usually build in some time in their schedules to allow for emergencies.

We've found that generally you will get somewhat better service when you tell them that you are a full timer. We always look for the independent repair service and stay away from RV dealers and especially Camping World.

Thanks for the feedback, good to know F/Ter's might have an advantage in getting an appt. Thanks for the RV Service reviews website, filed in favs. And agreed, I usually try to go to mobile or mom/pop RV shops with good reviews, before any dealers/CW.

Just nature I guess.
We have had some excellent and very helpful service with some CW locations like Feet Worth and Alby turkey. Pronunciation from our GPS.
Ft Wayne Freightliner, and a store shop near there, name forgottne right now and several others.
Most places will try to help people in an untenable situation.
There are some that are sorry Charlie take a number.
I guess we are adopting the TV new program mentality or whatever the proper terminology is.
Perhaps no newsis good news.
It is good to sing the praises of those offering good service or going out of the way to be helpful.
I try to do this even though I'm apparently turning to an old cantankerous old Foggie.

One RV shop to stay far, far away from!!
We have Class A motorhome that needed a new seal. After waiting for over a month for the part from Newmar, the time was scheduled. We informed the shop the coach HAD to be level prior to opening the slide. This was not done which then involved more repair work by he shop. The new seal was never put on and they just patched the old one with part of the new one! They were was so shoddy we complained to Newmar and now they are no longer a 'recommended dealer' for Newmar!
